  About Me
Love animals, sunsets, the breeze and the smell of the mountains, and plants, especially the aroma of sagebrush.
With the love of nature, comes my love of art and creativity.
Drawing, painting, getting my hands in clay, is all a great way of expression. I also enjoy beading, making cards, scrapbooking and well, I just never have time for all the things I would like to do.
Then of course I love my family and the family pets. I just wish that my children hadn't of grown up so quickly. I enjoyed when they where small and when they were, I always enjoyed watching them grow up, and now that they are grown up I wonder where the time went and why it flew by so quickly. I am though so proud of them and it makes my heart so warm to see them and their accomplishments.
I enjoy my home business repairing dolls and stuffed toys. This brings joy in knowing that I was able to fix something that is important to another.
I also enjoy collecting things, mostly dolls, and old toys.
Soon after it seems just moving I will have to move again soon as they will be building a viaduct where my house sits. I need to plan on getting rid of a lot of collectables on ebay soon.
I also of course enjoy taking pictures, mostly sunsets and sunrises. There is nothing quite as beautiful as a sunset or a sunrise. They never look the same just as a snowflake never looks the same as another.
The mystery's of the world, space and the unknown has always fascinated me.
I also enjoy sewing while I watch t.v. and having my fur friends around me as you can tell in this picture. It is a little hard to draw or sew sometimes with my boxer and 3 cats.

I have two children, who aren't children any more. Gosh, I am getting old as it seems that it was just yesterday they were babies and I was holding them in my arms. Today they are young adults. I love children very much and miss the days that they were children, so I might be getting ahead of myself and anxious for grandkids. I don't think I would mind hearing the words, grandma.
My son is strong, good looking (of course) and hard working. He works for the railroad and does well for himself. He enjoys working on cars, and painting signs when he has the time.
My daughter is going to college and has been for 4 years. She also works hard to get good grades and seems to enjoy it for the most part. She wants to go into speech and hearing, that will be dealing with children. She really enjoys working with the young, being with friends, and gives her great encouragement to do well and get good grades. She will be applying her self to graduate class's soon.

I have a boyfriend and my family consists of two dogs and three cats. They are so sweet and love them so much. Just this past year I lost three cats that lived long and healthy lives. It is always a hard thing to go through no matter what and they will be greatly missed. We also lost a dog a little over a year now, and she was pretty special. I still need to post pictures of all our fur family as I do have a lot and enjoy trying to capture them and their personalities.

Updated-
Last year I had a hip replacement and now I don't have to walk with canes any more. I still have all the chronic back pain, but no more sharp pains up my leg into my hip. Thank God for that, and I can walk. I walk down and take pictures. I have to rest and sit down, before walking back home, but I was never able to do this for about 7 years now. I feel like a new person. This is the first surgery out of 10 that acturally worked! I am one happy person.

Jeri's Interests
Introduce Yourself:
My name is Jeri, and when I was a little girl it seemed easier to communicate with animals then it did with people.
I didn't enjoy school until I was about in 10th grade and then I realized that I was just starting to enjoy school and
what I was learning and friends. I enjoyed working hard at a earlier age and wanted to make the same type of wages that a man made, so I took on jobs that only men would work. I started a job reconditioning cars, and soon was learning how to paint and fix cars. I worked in this business for about ten years. I have lived in Denver right after I married, and also a small town in Brush, Colorado. I painted cars in Brush for a little while, but it was a very hick town where woman didn't do that kind of work. When people walked into the body shop and saw me working there they went out the door. Woman at that time stayed at home and fixed dinners and took care of thier men that farmed and ranched around that area.
I then started working at the University of Wyoming and was the first woman to work in maintenance. Here I did a lot of heavy lifting and also would lift weights to keep up with the work that I had to do. I enjoyed this work as there was such a variety of differant jobs. I also made good money and after my divorce, I would also clean houses after work and did house painting and repairs for people.
One day after working a hectic fast pace day, I was anxious to get home and was trying to do two jobs at once and be in two places at once. I also was getting used to wearing glass's that I never had to wear before, as my eyes were getting bad and needed them. My deception was off, and when I went to hurry down some stairs I fell down them, and bounced like a ball down all of them. I was bouncing on my tail bone and my vertabre's crushed into each other. My life changed that day and so did my lively hood. In a time period of 5 years I had three back surgeries and a lot of epidurals in my back. Now, I suffer from a spinal disease and am hoping to share my experience with others as to what can happen with epidurals and the scar tissue damage from so many surgeries. Most people don't know what these shots can cause later in life and now I live in constant and chronic pain. I will be on pain pills, anti-depressants and nerve pills for the rest of my life, unless they find a cure for what I have, as there isn't one. I have arachnoiditis and so few people have never even heard of it, or know that they may have it.
I hope that you will take the time to go to this web site and read about this disease. Please go to http://www.arachnoiditis.com; or http://www.spineuniverse.com/displayarticle.php/article180.html; or http://www.ninds.nih.gov/disorders/arachnoiditis/arachnoiditis.htm
Soon after my accident my muscle tone started turning into fat, so I gained weight. Then after each surgery my hair started turning white. I have been in chronic pain for 13 years now and has taken about double of my years of life away. I went into a resturant the other day and they gave me the senior citzens discount.
I lost many of my active friends as they just didn't know what to say to me or how to act around me. The easy way for them was to ignore me. It seems our culture often misunderstands, isolates, and diminishes the abilities of people with disabilities, they are not given equal opportunities to flourish in our economy.
Employers are often resistent to hire a person with a disability because of the fear and lack of understanding regarding liability and the cost of accomadations required. As a result 70% of Americans with disabilities are unemployed as millions try with no success to find jobs.
Self employment offers many people with disabilities their only oppurtunity to earn a living.
I don't feel sorry for myself, but have learned from this change in my life. I have became more spiritual and was forced to change my way of living, which was a scary thing at first. I was forced to make a quick change in my life and it has been positive. I started a new business and differant hobbies.I wouldn't of even tried this road if this didn't happen to me. I really enjoy doing what I am doing as it is a job that was a hobby.
What is hurtful is that people sometimes treat me like I had a brain injury, instead of a back injury. I know I fell on my butt, and guess some think my brain is in my ass and maybe that is what they feel, well if that is the way, then hell with that, I don't care. I do wish that more people would understand about disabilities and treat me the same way they treated me before, but have been amazed how many really don't. I am the same person, I have just grown up a lot and understand more about life.
My Home Business:
I enjoy my home business repairing dolls and stuffed toys. This brings joy in knowing that I was able to fix something that is important to another.
I took a course through the mail to become certified, but learning first hand was the most beneficial to me. I am still learning as there is so much more to continue on and I also enjoy working with so many differant materials.
The history of dolls and toys is very interesting as well and am always helping people with researching their first and special doll or stuffed toy.
I never sewed much when I was younger, but have found that it is very enjoyable and relaxing. I started making bears several years ago when I took the restoration course. Making bears out of a special coat, blanket or shirt has been a rewarding experience and I enjoy seeing the happy face that comes along with the finished product.

The elevation for Laramie, Wyoming is 7,165 feet so the clouds are low and the skies are so clear and a wonderful blue color. Wyoming is also known for the wind so the clouds can bring on some stunning effects.

  Pictures
Here are pictures that were taken from around where I live. Also there are pictures of me that were before I had my accident and enjoying the outdoors. I used to ski, camp, climb rocks, arrow head hunting and even owned a boat and went fishing. This was my first fish that I ever caught. One of the most happiest times of my life. I loved cross country skiing and being outdoors of the untouched fresh snow. These are some of the things that I can't do anymore, but have tried to find differant hobbies that I can do. It isn't the end of the world even though I miss these things, but change is something that happens all the time, whether it is sudden or slow.

Check out my Sunrise and Sunset Pictures

"The manner with which we walk through life is each man's most important responsibility, and we should remember this with every new sunrise."
--Thomas Yellowtail, CROW

Every spiritual person should carry a vision of God's will in every area of their life. One day at a time, each morning at sunrise, we should spend time praying to the Creator. We should say something like, my Creator, this morning I ask you to show me, in terms I can understand, what you have or me to do. By doing this daily, over time, we will develop an unquestionable vision. Each person is responsible for taking the time to do this. It will bring great joy and peace of mind to those warriors who do.

My Creator, give me the vision, today, of what you want me to do.

Hello again Jeri, hope all are well and happy. When you get the time check out our page, new slides, music, guest book and background. The background is St. Louis River Front at night with the Gateway Arch taken across the Mississippi River in Illinois. We lived 20 miles from there for 37 years and have seen what is photographed in real time so couldn't resist using it on our page.

Open the door
At times we must let go
of the barriers that hold us,
reach out of the box were we live,
and walk freely.
Friendship has no color,
sex orientation,
no money requirements,
no abilities in comun,
be just free to give and receive.
